TORONTO SHINES LAUNCHES THIS FRIDAY JULY 17 AT ONTARIO PLACE!

MAGICAL NIGHTS OF SAFE DRIVE-IN COMEDY, LIVE MUSIC AND MOVIES

A Full Night of Live Comedy and Music, Classic Movies,

and Roller Blading Car Hops delivering Food Truck “eats”.

Toronto, ON (July 13, 2020)—With Torontonians ready to shed their lockdown blues, and drive in movies becoming THE thing to do, Toronto Shines is adding live entertainment to the movie going experience.  Beginning this Friday, (July 17th) and continuing through October, Toronto Shines will present the best in live entertainment and current and classic films in a safe and family friendly setting at the water’s edge of Ontario Place.

Led by award-winning music producer Farley Flex, and entertainment mogul Jeffrey Latimer, Toronto Shines will offer an unbeatable combination of a live DJ, hilarious stand-up comedy, top notch musical artists, and two classic, full length feature films per night.  Some of the city’s favourite food trucks will be onsite, with roller-blading car hop’s delivering directly to your car.

“Entertainers and their fans are missing those visceral connections that can only be found in a live performance,” said Farley Flex, Partner in True Gravity Productions.  “Toronto Shines came about because of the vision of True Gravity Entertainment & Media, JL Entertainment and Gordon Weiske of CanWood Entertainment,” adds Warren Campbell, Partner in True Gravity Productions, “Together we’re bringing a diverse lineup of Canadian artists and entertainment to Ontario Place.”

According to JL Events Partner and music industry veteran Laura van Leest, Toronto Shines taps into a booming desire for safe entertainment options.  “The Drive-In movie concept presents a safe way for communities to gather these days. We are excited to be offering a more robust, diverse and unique experience to the ‘movie drive-in’ by adding live entertainment and fantastic food truck options delivered ‘retro style’”.

Public safety protocols developed by the City of Toronto Public Heath for Drive-In Events are in place to ensure a safe experience for visitors.
