It can be quite enlightening as well as insightful to hear about a designer’s favourite garment, especially if they have been designing their whole life. That is exactly what Gity Monsef’s book My Favourite Dress delves into. The book focuses on one garment in particular, the dress, and asks the simple question of designers and celebrities alike: What is your favourite dress, and why? The question may be simple, but, the answers are more than complex.

The resulting compilation of answers is a lovely book full of beautiful photographs and rare glimpses into the personal lives of the world’s most influential designers. Those featured in the book include Vivienne Westwood, Manolo Blahnik, Tom Ford, Dolce & Gabbana, John Galliano, Jean-Paul Gaultier, Christian Lacroix, Ralph Lauren, Stella McCartney, Alexander McQueen, Oscar de la Renta, Valentino, and many, many, more.

And, as if it wasn’t good enough already, a percentage of proceeds from the sale of the book are going to Save the Children.
