Hue Cue–Bottega Veneta Spring 2010 Collection
Bon jour gents, we have some news for you about your upcoming wardrobe. Whether it’s lollypop-tinged accessories or retro tie-dye you’re jonesing for, Bottega Veneta has something for every man in its Spring 2010 collection. Talk about kicking it up a notch – the show was simply aglow.
Creative Director and mastermind, Tomas Maier is sticking to safari-inspired neutral tones such as beige and army green for key pieces, but each runway look shows a heightened curiosity toward punches of colour. This awe-inspiring collection teems with zesty green silk neckties, blushing pink and violet purple tie-dye scarves—reminiscent of a kid in a candy store—and shocking pops of blue-raspberry and turquoise accessories.
Fruit-punch-red patent loafers completed the effortless “Oh, these old things?” look and tangerine and bright ruby suits brought the show to a rousing finish. The hue-embellished collection is a wake-up call; if Bottega Veneta’s newest men’s line is any hint of what’s to come, Spring 2010 is one to look forward to. Oh, and did we mention the paisley button-ups and multi-tone floral print suits? Yeah, and they rock.
While the collection is by and large varnished with a hugely arrayed spattering of every shade imaginable, Maier keeps the theme cohesive with nonchalant with tousled hair, biker jackets, dark denim, lace waist shorts and carefree khakis.
Bursts of bright washes isn’t exclusive to the BV’s men’s collection; the Resort 2010 women’s collection looks equally promising with bloom-like tints of rose and shocking kelly greens adorning the suits and dresses.
